Performance bands are used to categorize the percent correct score for an assignment. Performance bands are set for percent ranges that can be labeled to indicate a level of mastery, a grade, or to indicate proficiency. Performance bands can be created by Gradient Leaders who have access to any of the 3 default Access Groups for the whole subscription to access and can also be created individually by staff for their own personal use.
Create District Performance Bands
1. Log in to Gradient. Select the Account Menu(top right corner).
2. Choose Admin Mode.
3. From Admin Mode, select the Account Menu (top right corner).
4. Choose Settings
5. Select Performance Bands and reference these steps if needed.
TIP: If your subscription contains multiple schools or departments with different grading scales, consider naming your performance band with a school abbreviation.
District performance bands are typically created for a common grading scale so that staff don't have to create their own. District performance bands can be linked during assignment creation or toggled on for use in assignment responses, reports, and grade transfer. Read More.
Leaders and staff often create multiple performance bands for formative assignments versus graded assignments. Other scenarios for creating additional performance bands would include rubric-scored assignments, standards-based grading, or matching a competency scale.
