Use Cases for Class Groups

Common scenarios for sharing to Class Groups include:

• Mock SAT or another school-wide assessment delivered by staff other than the primary teacher
• Long-term substitute teacher with no rostered classes or students but needs access to previous assignments created by original teacher (adding the staff as a co-teacher may be a better option)
• Support Staff Model for school subscriptions using Clever/ClassLink and unable to manually update classes to include co-teachers.

Share to a Class Group

Start from your View Assignments tile or left sidebar icon for Assignments Check the box next to Assignment Name to find the Share icon.  Select Share In the Share with field, begin typing Class or the name of the Class Group to find what you're looking for.

Review (1) blue i and (2) Explain Permissions options Select the permission that works for your team and choose Done. TIP: A staff member who is not rostered to the classes in the Class Group will not find the Class Group in the Share with field. Make sure to add a class for the assignment author (if they aren't rostered to the classes in the group) or also share the assignment with Joint Owner access to the staff member who needs access to the Class Group and assignment.

Edit Assignment Sharing

Once the assignment has been shared, the author or joint owner can adjust or remove sharing options.

Start from your View Assignments tile or left sidebar icon for Assignments Check the box next to Assignment Name to find the Share icon.  Select Share From the Share Assignment modal, locate the teacher or group to change. Select from the permissions dropdown menu the permission, including Stop Sharing. Select DONE to save changes.
