Rubric with Capture

Will not scan - green lines pop up but i keep getting the message "GradeCam is having trouble reading this form. Please check position, lighting, camera focus, and camera zoom." I've tried multiple browsers as well as the mobile app.

Hi Rachel,

If you could send a screenshot of the form under the scan window, that would be helpful. Click on the camera icon to the right and then place a form under the camera. Take a screenshot of the whole computer screen.

Make sure the upper left corner of the form is visible.

Which assignment is this in your account?

Thank you,
~Donna

I need to know how to fix this - grades are due at 1:00 today and I haven't heard anything from you in a week. I paid for a year's subscription and am thoroughly disappointed in supposed upgrades.

Hi Rachel,

I apologize for not getting back to you.  Our developers have been working hard on this but have not been able to resolve this and render a fix at this time.

I totally understand your frustration and know that we are excited about our new features but with that sometimes comes issues that are not expected.

As soon as a fix is released, I will let you know.

Again, I apologize for the lateness of this update. That is totally on me for not getting back to you.

Thank you,
~Donna

Hello Rachel,

We have just released a fix to resolve issues scanning with the multiple version/ID block.  Can you please try to scan your tests by logging into our testing site using the URL staging.gradecam.com?  You will log in using your same email and password.

Thank you for your patience on this.  I know you had grades due yesterday and count on our software to work for you when you need it.  Let me know if we can help with anything and also please let me know if this fix is working for you.

Regards,

Debbie

On the ones that wouldn't scan, the same error as before kept popping up

Rachel,

Where you logged into staging.gradecam.com?  That is very important.

Rachel,

You are currently scanning with your iPhone.  Do you have the option to scan using a webcam or document camera?  It would very helpful to know if you are still experiencing the scanning issue using a difference device.  Please let me know.

Thank you for all your help Rachel!

The last scans were with a document camera. I can't get to the staging website on my iPhone (must use the app to scan).

"the last scans were with a document camera"  - can you clarify.  Also can you tell me what version of iPhone you were using to scan initially?

Thank you

If you have scanned with your document camera - can you please open up scansupport@gradecam.com and scan your forms for me?  You will be prompted through the process.  Please center the form and let it scan you form under your document camera.  This will allow our team to analyze your form to help further test.  When you are getting ready to do this, please let me know so we can be on the look out.  Thanks again Rachel!

Rachel - goodness - we figured it out and it was right in front of us.  The student ID block is the issue.  You will need to have the students pad 0's in front of their student ID or think of it as right justified.  When you have students left justify their ID and leave those columns empty  - you will have scanning issues for sure.

I might recommend that you simply reduce to a 6 digit ID form.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  WOW - that was a long way around things.

Thank you for your patience.

Debbie
