Are other standards in the pipeline?

I see that you have Georgia standards for high school Math in place, but none for language arts.  Are these in the works?  I'm interested in the standards analysis function, but it's hard to see without our standards in place!

We're currently working with Academic benchmarks to get all standards nationwide.  We're also implementing a way to create custom standards.  Thses should both be in the application in the next few months.

Good afternoon! When will standards for all subject areas (or custom standards) be available?

Since you have standards up for other states/subject areas, why the lag? :(

Hi Laura,

We offer ELA and Math for Common Core and 4 core for all states...ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies.  If you are a school or district license holder we offer custom standards and with that schools and districts are able to enter or import (for example) Foreign Language, Technology, Media or local standards.

Hi Debbie

I do not hold a school/district account, unfortunately.

Foreign Language is a graduation requirement in Maryland (and many other states) though!!  http://www.ncssfl.org/docs/States%20with%20Foreign%20Language%20Graduation%20Requirements%20-%20%20Revised%202010.pdf

There are National Standards which are used by many states. https://www.actfl.org/advocacy/discover-languages/advocacy/discover-languages/advocacy/discover-languages/resources-1?pageid=3392

Please add these and expand beyond Core classes!

Hi Laura,

I appreciate the additional information.  To be honest with you the request for foreign language standards has not been overwhelming to date and it comes down to the cost for us to provide to our users.  Can you clarify something for me, if we provided the national foreign language standards would this cover all states including Maryland?

Thank you,

Debbie

Hi Debbie -

First off, thank you for your prompt responses!

If you were to provide the National Foreign Language Standards, I can safely say that standards would be covered in both Maryland and Michigan (the two states where I have taught/held a license). I am absolutely certain that there are more states that use the National Standards - I would venture to say that a majority of states implement them. I just tweeted their account to ask!

The authority to ask on this subject would be ACTFL, the American Council for Teaching of Foreign Languages.

Here is more info about the standards -  http://www.actfl.org/sites/default/files/StandardsforFLLexecsumm_rev.pdf

I am sorry to hear that there has not been more interest in getting Foreign Language on board with Gradecam - There are several Individual Users in my department, and we love Gradecam's ease of use & data crunching capabilities. The ability to align assessments with our standards would be invaluable if we ever have the opportunity to pitch Gradecam to our school.

We also happen to be an International Baccalaureate School, so if someday we could import IB standards, I'd be the happiest little German teacher ever!
