grading error

I have used gradecam many times and it has worked great or at least I hope it has. Today I was grading a test and noticed that a student who usually scores very high got an unusually low score. As I double checked my key it was correct so I double checked the grading results and noticed that it was incorrect. For example the correct answer was A the student put A but gradecam recorded that the student but B and marked it incorrect. I deleted the scan and rescanned it and the second time it scored it correctly. I then decided to rescore all of the texts and realized that it was still making errors. I just noticed this today but it makes me concerned with past grades I have given my students. What could the problem be?

Any time you are getting incorrect scans, please send a screenshot of the form trying to scan to support@gradecam.com and let us know which assignment you are trying to scan so we can definitely look into this for you.

Hi Reuben,
Please send me a screen shot of a form that will not scan correctly in in the scan window so that I can see what the student has filled in and what GradeCam is scoring it as for the assignment. Send to support@gradecam.com - also let me know which assignment this is for so I can look at the key.

This happened to me as well. Some scans were completely accurate while many scans reported answers that were not even close to the actual answers on the student’s sheet. Frustrating and far from time saving or reliable. Having to double check every answer sheet is not what I call a time saver and not why I made the effort and took the time to integrate this system.

We are experiencing the same here. I have had several teachers report inaccurate grading.

This is happening to me also using the I-Pad. I don't know how to send a screen shot of that in process as the I-Pad is over the form. But I can take a picture of the form/answer sheet that was scored incorrectly and tell you which assignment it was for.

 To take a screenshot of the form scanning on the iPad, you will hold down the Home button and the Power button at the same time. Email me the screenshot.

I am experiencing the same - I had options A through E on my students papers, and her scan recorded many F answers. My answer key, which I scanned in, also recorded about half my answers as one letter higher than what I marked - A's were B's, B's were C's, etc.

I have already manually changed all of the answers to correct, but I can't do this with a hundred student papers. I'm sure my screen shot will just be redundant for you at this point, but please give us an answer soon.
