How do you archive old clases from the current term?

I have several classes that were created last year but are not being used this year. Is there a way to archive the old classes to an Archive list? I do not want to delete the classes.

Hi Angel,
At this time, you are not able to archive the classes. I will put this request into our development team for future consideration for updates. You can rename them and put Z or X in front of the class name which will put them to the bottom of the list for you.

I second this request!!!  For both classes and assignments.  Thanks!

I believe most teachers need the ability to archive courses. It rapidly gets cluttered and difficult to use with so many courses.

Thank you all. I make sure this gets discussed again. Most teachers will delete their rosters from year to year.  You can also rename them and then know which year is the current rosters.

Thanks, Donna.

The renaming thing only works for so long... I've been using gradecam for over 5 years now, so I'm now up to adding 5 z's in front of old classes.

I don't want to delete them because I'd like to see how students perform on assessments from one year to the next.

Archiving them with a single click would be much better than renaming.

HI Laura,

You are able to download all data for those past years. If you go to the Classes tab, and click on that class, you can check all assignments and download the data and save.  Then you are able to compare from an Excel spreadsheet as well.

I would also like to request this feature! Renaming them can put them to the bottom of the list, but I also have the issue that as a world languages teacher, I have students moving from 1st year to 2nd year of a language and so on, so when they return to me at the next level I have them in a new roster and an old roster. Sometimes when I scan their assessments it will end up in the old class and it's a hassle to track down that score when I am transferring them to the gradebook and see a blank for some students! It seems like archiving the old rosters would prevent this.

Hi Rebecca,

If you have a student in two rosters and using generic forms, you will be prompted to choose the roster you want to scan into unless you have changed the student's name in any way or the student ID. If you are using specific forms for the assignments, then the scores will scan automatically into the assignment for that form.

If you are not being prompted and then the scan is going into the wrong roster, I would need to have some specifics as the form for that assignment would not allow the score to be in the wrong roster or the prompt would allow you to enter the score into the correct roster to that assignment.

I would be happy to look into this for you.

Regards,
~Donna

I would also like to have this feature! I understand that there might be a need to place a storage limit as GC can't have unlimited storage potential. But, in general, the ability to work with previous data (in the same interface and format, not the downloaded version) while working through current assessments would be really helpful to have as an option but also not something most of us need to do on a regular basis. For example, I like being able to see an overall average for an assessment but hate that those previous classes clog up my class list.
