printer can't print exam reports

There is no problem printing under classic view, but school printers cannot print the exam reports under the go upgrade. We have tried everything, converting to a pdf, reducing size of page, configuring....the classic view never had a problem printing the scores.. Please help.

Hello Bruce,

Sorry to hear you are having issues with Printing.  Can you provide a little more information about what you are experiencing?

Are you able to send to the printer and that is where things get hung up?     Are you able to generate a print preview or is that just blank?                     What is it that isn't exactly working?

Yes.  It gets sent to the printer and stalls there.  We have tried it with other printers with same result.   Our tech crew thought the file was too big and converted to off with the sand result.  We also reset the printer multiple times.  When went back to classic view things printed right away!

So, classic view works fine.....go version for print scores only stalls printers.

Thank you Bruce for the extra information.  Can you tell me what assignment you are trying to print so I can test on our end?

Hi Bruce,

To be able to reproduce the issue on our end, so we can see exactly what is occurring, would you mind sending details including the email of the account you're logged in as when you're seeing this, if you're in admin or single teacher mode, and exactly what report it is you're trying to print. If you can send that info to us in an email to support@gradecam.com that would be very helpful, and that way your account information won't be publicly available.

My issue wasn't resolved after a number of contacts with grade cam.  I think they need to keep access open for classic grade cam until this is resolved.  Printing student exam reports is a big reason we pay for this service.  

Any one else having this problem?  Help us grade cam?  :)

We are having the same problem at my school. Gradecam is useless if I can't print the reports for students to see what they missed!!!!

Dear Gradecam....there are a number of schools now on this thread with the same printing issue.  Now that classic view is gone, we can't print student reports at all.  We have had both school and district IT look at the issue, and it seems the PDF is sending a code to the printer to not print.  We have changed fonts, used USB's, used multiple printers, all with no success.  Can we have some focused support on this issue?

Hi All,

In talking to our support engineer, we will need some information in order to contact the printer manufacturer:

- Printer Model
- Driver Version
- Firmware Version
- The .PDF file they're trying to print

Please send all this information to support@gradecam.com along with the PDF file you are trying to print.

Also, please send along the exact account, assignment for the report, and the steps being taken to create and print this report so we can go through the exact steps from that account and get information in the background to analyze.

I am so glad that I came on here to check, because I thought that I was going crazy. I have tried everything, but can't get reports to print.  I never had a problem with classic view either.

We are having the same problem here at my school.  If I print at home on my PC it works fine, but here at school we are an all Mac school and every time you send a print it gives an error message on the printer.  It started in the fall and like the others it would work if I went to classic.  But now that classic is gone I can't print at all which is super frustrating.  We have tried on 6 different printer models and brands and it is always the same, an error message.

Which report are you trying to print from which account and what assignment?

What is the make and model of the printer?
What browser are you using and have you tried other browsers with the same results?

I just tried to print an exam report and I have the same issue. My printer model is a Lexmark T460. I am using Chrome. I have no issues printer other documents or files but when I click on "assignments" and then the print option my printer shows an error message.

Hi Shaniece,

Are you not able to print any reports from GradeCam? Please send a screenshot of the error showing when you click on the Print icon.  Do you only get this error when you are trying to print a whole class or are you able to print single student reports without error?

I have tried to print whole class reports as well as individual student reports. I have even gone so far as to save as a pdf and print from my desktop and I am still receiving the same error message on my printer.

Good afternoon, All,

I know some of you are still not able to print reports from a specific printer.  We have tried reaching out to some of the company support desks without any reply. 

If you are still struggling with this issue, please contact support@gradecam.com with a possible direct number your school/district may have for a sales rep or person that would come to service your copier/printer so that we could directly contact someone from that company.
